The Whole Story:
Looking for a well maintained home with great accessibility features? Have I got a nice one for you!
This home was originally constructed for a handicapped person and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into the design.
I mean they didn't just say, let's put some wide doorways in and call it good. There are a lot of things that must be truly
awkward for someone in a wheel chair in a "regular" house and those things have been addressed in this house.
Let me give you some examples. In the kitchen you'll find countertops that are lower than normal which means that the sink and
the built in range top are also lower as well as the height of the built in oven. In both the kitchen and the bathroom, there
isn't a cabinet under the sink so someone in a wheel chair could actually use the sink. There's also an oversized, wheel chair
accessible shower. Other nice touches are the height of the thermostat (lower than normal) and the height of outlets (higher
than normal).
The majority of the rooms are on the main level. There are 2 bedrooms, a bath, a large living room and the kitchen with a
laundry area on one end and a dining area on the other end. There's also a mud room between the kitchen and the attached
garage that is the full depth of the house and has a door to the front and the back yards.
There is a full, walk-out basement and an elevator to get to it! There's a family room and another full bath down here, which
are finished except for the floor covering. The seller will have carpet and vinyl installed for the buyer. The unfinished part
of the basement houses the water softener, water heater and high efficiency gas furnace plus there's plenty of storage room.
The house also has central air and an air to air heat exchanger.
All this plus it sits on a wooded lot on a quiet street. Come see what you think.
