The Whole Story:
Old farm house, RIGHT outside of town but with the feeling of being WAY out in the country,
tillable acreage, wooded acreage, a pond and adjacent to Silver Lake...if this isn't paradise, I don't know what is!
I said an old farm house but I do want to clarify. It is old but has been nicely maintained over the years. In other words, you don't
HAVE to do anything to it in order to move in. The other thing is that you'll be kind of amazed about some of the things in the
house because you won't expect them. It actually has a first floor bedroom which you don't always find in an older home but besides that, the bedroom has a walk-in closet!
Another thing I didn't expect was the huge bathroom. It has a long countertop with storage underneath, an oversized sink, a bathtub and separate tiled shower. The main
floor laundry room (washer and dryer stay) is right off the kitchen and it doubles as a walk-in pantry. The large eat-in kitchen is just what you'd think of for a country
home. The refrigerator and stove stay. Of course the living room is on the main level too and there is also a great office with built in shelving and a storage closet.
Upstairs there are 3 more bedrooms and a storage room. Actually there are 3 storage rooms because one of the bedrooms has two, 7' x 12' rooms connected to it. Even though
it has 2 closets besides the 2 rooms, I can envision making this whole area into a master suite using the 2 storage rooms as walk-in closets or maybe even a second bath.
The landing is so big it's like a room in itself. You could use it for a library, reading room, another office or maybe a play area with all the toys and games. Two last
things that I think you'll especially enjoy about the house are the 11' x 28' screened in porch on the back side of the house and the south facing 9' x 20' enclosed porch.
You are going to be as impressed outside as you are with the house. Remember I said that you're right outside of town yet you feel like you're way out in the country? Part
of the reason that you feel like you're way out is because you can't see the road from the house which makes it really private. The fact that there are over 122 acres (per Assessor's Office) helps
with the privacy too! The acreage is a nice mixture of hardwoods, pines, tillable ground and wetlands. Near the house there's a pond and a fenced in garden area. The
36' x 70' pole barn is used as a garage, workshop and storage. The front has a concrete floor, 2 garage doors (with openers), a service door and it's heated. The back part
of the pole barn has a dirt floor and a large sliding door. It's great for storing all those things that you don't want cluttering up the garage. Besides the pole barn
there's also an 18' x 20' granary. I'm sure you could think of fun things to do with it too! I haven't even told you the best part yet. This property borders Silver Lake
on one side and the Tomorrow River State Trail on the other side. The trail is approximately 28 miles long running from Plover to Manawa. Silver Lake is a 68 acre lake with
a maximum depth of 17 feet and a mean depth of 7 feet. There are approximately 1650' (per GIS) of this property along the shoreline! One thing I want to point out is that because of
the uniqueness of how these parcels sit in reference to the lake and the road, if the EXACT amount of acreage and shoreline frontage
is important to you, I highly recommend that you get a survey. Take a look at the aerial and you'll see what I mean.
Are you ready to move to paradise?
