The Whole Story:
When you fantasize about your next waterfront cottage, what kinds of things are you wishing for? I bet I can guess some of them.
As to where it's located, I would guess that you want it to be on a full recreational lake where you can swim, fish and water ski.
It goes without saying that you want your frontage to be firm and sandy.
As for the "cottage" itself, if you really wanted to fulfill your fantasy, it wouldn't really be a "cottage". Instead it would be a
place where you have all the luxuries of home and not have to "rough it" at all. It would be big enough that you would never hesitate
to invite lots of people to come and visit because what fun is a lake house if you can't enjoy it with your friends and family? But
you don't want it to just be big, you want to be able to offer yourself and your guests nice accommodations and some privacy. Like maybe
to start it off, how about 2 master suites each having their own walk-in closet, full bath and private balcony? Off one of the master
suites it would be nice to have an attached room to use for an office/den or possibly a sleeping area for little ones. Then you could
probably use another 3 regular bedrooms, a full bath on the main level and another full bath on the walk-out lower level. But to top it
off, let's add one more huge bedroom to put 5 or 6 beds in because some people (especially the younger ones) might find it really fun to
all "camp out" together.
Now for the living areas. You probably want a nice living room off the kitchen and it should probably have access to a big deck. The kitchen
should be equipped with high quality appliances like a Jenn-Air grill, oven and dishwasher so that your time in the kitchen can be enjoyable.
You also need a big family room for people to hang out in. Might not be half bad to have a good size bar there too and a hot tub right outside
the door. When you want to be outside but it's raining or the mosquitoes are out, there better be a screened in porch too. A laundry area on
the lower level as well as one in one of the master suites would be a nice touch.
Have I just described what you've been dreaming about? Good, because it's not just a dream. It's reality. Come see for yourself!
