• Make a list of your wants and your needs concerning your new home. If you actually write the list out and prioritize it, it can help you in your decision making process later. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the emotion of the moment and choose the "prettier" house (even though it isn't in the right school district and doesn't have enough bedrooms) rather than the house that fits your needs that you might have to make "pretty" after you buy it. When you're making your list, think about things such as location (including school district), number of bedrooms, number of baths, need for a garage or basement, etc.
